Han Jong Hwa, dean of the environmental science faculty at Sariwon Ri Kye Sun University of Education, has devoted herself to education for over 30 years.
After graduating from Kim Il Sung University, she took a teaching post at the normal university. Since then, she has written 38 kinds of textbooks for middle school students and generalized them across the country, and 12 kinds of books for university students to help improve their performance.
When taking part in working out the universal 12-year compulsory education programme, she played a pivotal role in updating the contents of biology and chemistry subjects.
Besides, she applied a new method to compiling several textbooks and references, such as “Agricultural Techniques” and “Fruit Production Techniques,” thus improving the practical ability of students at technical senior middle schools.
She developed electronic teaching plans for frontier subjects and introduced various multimedia and means to teaching, making it possible to upgrade the level of biological experiment education at middle schools and create and generalize a biological model for all universities of education.
Recently, she published a study paper “Permanent agroforestry of some fruit-bearing species on forest land,” which was highly appreciated in the 11th national exhibition of scientific research findings of universities and awarded a certificate of registration of sci-tech hits.
Such innovative and creative achievements in education and research have won her many certificates of registration of new teaching methods, educational science hits and patent. And she was honoured to participate in the 14th National Conference of Teachers and other national events.
“We should profoundly remain honest and responsible for our duty we assume on behalf of society and community.” This is what she always says to her colleagues of the younger generation.
She was chosen as one of the top ten teachers of 2023.
