July 27 is the day of the great victory in the Fatherland Liberation War, which is etched in golden letters in the history of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
No one predicted that the young DPRK, less than two years after its founding in 1948, would emerge victorious in the three-year war against the formidable US imperialists.
But the Korean people and the soldiers of the Korean People’s Army retained such an unshakable faith that they would emerge victorious without fail as they were led by Kim Il Sung , an ever-victorious and iron-willed commander, and a firm confidence in the validity of their cause. They dedicated their youth and life to the freedom and independence of their country, and worked a miracle unprecedented in the world history of wars.
Many decades have passed since the fireworks lighted up the sky celebrating the war victory, but the ennobling spirit and soul of the war veterans are steadfastly carried forward from one generation to the next.
It is a source of great pride for the current generation to respect and give prominence to the war veterans as revolutionary forerunners, and the wartime generation serves as role models for all.
With the approach of the V-day, all the Korean people are paying their great respect to the wartime generation that sacrificed their youth and life without hesitation for the country and the coming generations.
