In the Democratic People's Republic of Korea importance is attached to the work for creating and protecting the forests as part of providing the people with more civilized and beautiful living conditions and environment.
One day in November Juche 103(2014) the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the Central Tree Nursery under the Ministry of Land and Environment Protection in order to turn the forests of the country into golden and treasure mountains covered with green woods.
That day, he put forward important tasks to make the whole country forest and garden and called for conducting vigorous mass movements such as the movement to create Forest of Socialist Patriotism and the movement for winning the title of Model County in Afforestation throughout the society.
The following year, he unfolded a grand plan for forest restoration.
According to his plan, it was established as a Party policy that the whole Party, all the country and the entire people should turn out for forest restoration.
In May Juche 105(2016) Kim Jong Un said a great change would be made in the work for the afforestation of the country in the near future if modern tree nurseries are built in all provinces to produce a lot of saplings in an industrial way. And he instructed on building the new tree nurseries in a bold and big way and proudly handing them over to the posterity.
As a result, modern sapling producers could be built in all parts of the country and all its mountains are changing into golden and treasure mountains.
