To the question put by a journalist with regards to the fact that the West is scheming to approve Ukrainian attack against the Russian territory with the West’s long-range weapons, Lavrov, Foreign Minister of Russia, said that Russia will put all its efforts to counter NATO if it takes aggressive measures against Russia.
He insisted that they cannot remain indifferent to NATO which has openly maintained the aggressive policy against Russia for a long period.
He then continued that NATO leadership is accelerating the militarization of Europe and waging attack drills aimed at Russia while continuously claiming that Russia could attack a member state of NATO within the next few years.
He also stressed that if NATO or a member state of NATO takes an aggressive act against Russia, Russia will exercise its right to self-defense stipulated in the UN Charter and mobilize all its efforts to take countermeasures to safeguard the security and sovereignty of the country.
