54th Sports Contest of Artistes Held in DPRK

The 54th Sports Contest of Artistes took place at the Basketball Gymnasium in Chongchun Street here on Nov. 27 and 28.
In the contest, divided into teams of film art and stage art, there were such events as basketball, volleyball, table-tennis, tennis, a tug-of-war, Taekwon-Do, Ssirum and sports amusement games.
Among the spectators were Choe Chang Hak, vice department director of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Sung Jong Gyu, minister of Culture, and officials, creators, artistes, teachers, etc. in the field of culture and arts.
Players showed well their sports technique, team spirit and noble sportsmanship they cultivated in the days of mass sports.
The film art team won the tug-of-war.
The stage art team came first in total standings at the contest.
