It has been three years since the enforcement of the rural revolution programme in the new era.
Over the years more than 1 500 modern villages have sprung up in all parts of the country, with the rural houses built suited to the characteristics of relevant areas.
Ceremonies have constantly been held across the country to move into new houses granted by the State to agricultural workers free of charge.
This is a precious fruition of the ennobling ambition and devotion of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un to bring about a leap forward for the socialist countryside by transforming it into a rich, cultural community featured by modern technology and civilization.
During his inspection tours for rural development, he pondered on how to push rural construction and set a new model for the drive.
At the Fourth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea in December 2021, he unveiled the rural revolution programme on opening a new era of the development of the Korean-style socialist rural community, and led the campaign to build rural houses.
He checked himself thousands of designs of rural houses, and took all necessary measures, including the organization of city and county construction brigades, the provision of construction equipment and materials, and the supply, transport and storage of cement for rural construction.
Meanwhile, legislation provided a legal guarantee for the rural construction policy, with the law on development of city and county adopted at the Fifth Session of the 14th Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK, the law on socialist rural development at the Seventh Session of the 14th SPA and the law on provision of cement for city and county construction at the 19th Plenary Session of the Standing Committee of the 14th SPA.
Amid the nationwide construction of modern rural villages suited to the characteristics of mountainous, lowland and coastal areas, decent houses at a high level of modernity, cultural practice and diversity have mushroomed.
It is a firm determination of Kim Jong Un to let the agricultural workers and other local people be the first to enter communist society by pushing ahead with the grand regional development policy designed to bring about regional boom and bringing into practice the rural revolution programme in the new era.
