The U.S. administration is scheming to unfreeze the foreign aid fund worth of $ 5.3 billion and appropriate $ 870 million to Taiwan as military aid. The spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry urged the U.S to stop such moves to arm Taiwan and undermine peace and stability of the Taiwan Strait.

The spokesperson noted that the military aid to Taiwan by the U.S. is a flagrant violation of the One China principle and the rules of China-U.S. 3 Joint Communiqués and serious infringement upon the sovereignty and security rights of China and that such moves will send wrong signals to the forces seeking independence of Taiwan. China denounces and strongly opposes such moves, the spokesperson added.

The spokesperson concluded by stressing that China will keep close watch over the development of the situation and firmly safeguard its sovereignty, security and territorial integrity.
