The whole country is in festive mood on the Day of the Shining Star, the greatest holiday of the nation, when the great leader Kim Jong Il was born.

An evening gala of youth and students was held at Kim Il Sung Square on the evening of the 16th.

It started to the tune of the song "Let Us Sing of the Dear General of the People".

The youth and students danced to the tune of songs including "Spring on Jong Il Peak", "Cheers of the People" and "Oath to the Youth".

Fireworks were set off, adding pleasure and joy to the holiday.
