Modern regional-industry factories that have recently been built across the country are boosting production by relying on raw materials available in relevant regions.
Those in Songchon County of South Phyongan Province churn out chestnut jam, condiments, sweets, biscuits, fried glutinous rice cake, beverages, pickled vegetables and other foods, as well as various kinds of plastic daily necessities. Chestnut produced in the county is famous for its high nutritive value and unique taste and aroma.
Foodstuff factories in South Hwanghae Province’s Jaeryong County, North Phyongan Province’s Kujang County, South Phyongan Province’s Sukchon County, North Hwanghae Province’s Unpha County and South Hwanghae Province’s Unchon County increase the production of sweet bread, yeasted bread and other flour-based foods by keeping abundant raw materials in store.
And the regional-industry factories in coastal counties turn out processed marine products welcomed by customers, while the foodstuff factories in mountainous counties produce goods made with Crataegus pinnatifida , matrimony vine fruits, black chokeberry, wild grapes, Actinidiae fructus and other fruits gathered from surrounding mountains and raw material production bases.
Daily necessities factories in other cities and counties manufacture soap and plastic and wooden goods based on raw materials available in their regions.
