Now, our people, looking up the fluttering Party flag, recollect President Kim Il Sung’s immortal exploits associated with the Party flag.One July day in １９４６, the President summoned some officials and proposed making a flag of the Party which would reflect its character as a mass party in order to vividly show the character of the party to our people and the world people.The President attached the great significance to instituting the emblem of the Party and personally guided the designing of emblem of the Party one by one.Some alien elements, who had sneaked into the Party then, viciously schemed to doggedly stop adoption of our Party flag, using sophistry that even other advanced state had no party flag.The President stressed:Making of our Party flag is not something which we should obtain other’s consent. In the past when we began the revolution we did not ask for other’s approval to our deed.Afterwards the President saw some drafts of emblem of the Party to point out the drawbacks and gave detailed instructions to remedy them.Thanks to the wise leadership and noble intention, energetic and careful guidance of the President, the Party flag and emblem which reflect the character of our Party and its noble mission saw the light.Our people, flying the Party flag under the wise leadership of the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un, vigorously march towards the socialist power.Rodong Sinmun
