The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un pays great concern to the honest and diligent working people on this land. The celebrations of May Day, the international holiday of the working people all over the world, is also associated with his loving care.
On May Day in 2012, he visited some factories to congratulate the working people there and saw a celebratory concert at the People’s Theatre in the capital city of Pyongyang. The following year, on the same occasion, he along with citizens watched a sporting event held by the working people in the public health sector.
The Korean people still remember the May Day banquet held at the hostel newly built in 2014 in the Pyongyang Kim Jong Suk Textile Mill.
Earlier, in late April, while looking round the new hostel, Kim Jong Un expressed great satisfaction over its construction and suggested holding a grand May Day banquet at the hostel in honour of the workers of the mill. He told the director of the General Political Bureau of the Korean People’s Army to attend the event and congratulate the workers reflecting his mind as well. The banquet took place with splendour at the modern hostel on May Day amid the burst of tearful excitement.
On May Day in 2020, he attended the inauguration ceremony of the Sunchon Phosphatic Fertilizer Factory, in which he cut the inauguration tape and lavished praise on the builders’ labour feats.
On May Day in 2022, he had a photo session with the students and working youths in Pyongyang who contributed to the successful military parade held in celebration of the 90th founding anniversary of the Korean People’s Revolutionary Army. In 2023 he made sure that working people in metallurgical industry who laboured to produce iron and steel were summoned to Pyongyang to hold a sporting match and enjoy May Day.
Today the socialist working people in the DPRK celebrate May Day full of great happiness and dignity for holding the peerlessly great man in high esteem.
