All coal mines across the country are waging a vigorous high-speed tunnelling competition to provide a guarantee for increased output.
The Ministry of Coal Industry has found the key to normalizing this year’s coal production at a high level in increasing the number of reserve pits by giving precedence to tunnelling, and scrupulously organizes the tunnelling competitions between different units.
In particular, it sets it as an important target to build up the production capacity and modernize transport system in coal mines with rich deposits and favourable mining conditions and concentrates efforts to this end.
The Sunchon Area Youth Coal-mining Complex is directing significant effort to tunnelling aimed at expanding the production capacity of the February 8 Jiktong Youth Coal Mine and the Chonsong Youth Coal Mine while the Tokchon Area Coal-mining Complex is generalizing the experience of high-speed tunnelling groups of coal mines that boast high production records, including the Namyang Coal Mine.
The Hamnam Area Coal-mining Complex ensures the preferential supply of equipment, parts and materials needed in giving precedence to tunnelling and adopts advanced drilling and blasting methods.
The Pukchang Area Youth Coal-mining Complex systematically increases the number of reserve coal pits with fine prospects by concentrating capable workers and equipment on major tunnelling sites.
Similar successes are being achieved in the Kujang, Kaechon, Tukjang, Chonnae and Kyongwon area coal-mining complexes.
In this way the Ministry of Coal Industry has so far obtained hundreds of reserve faces.
