Many units across the country gain tangible benefits from recycling, making a point of reusing waste materials in production and business activities.
The Namhung Youth Chemical Complex has established a line of recycling the by-products from the production of polypropylene and rayon yarn and different kinds of polypropylene waste, and pushed ahead with the work to produce plastic bags for packaging fertilizer.
The new recycling line enables the complex to mass-produce quality plastic bags for packaging fertilizer and prevent environmental pollution, while saving plenty of raw and other materials and fund.
While ensuring more than 75 percent in the rate of recycling plastic waste, the Pyongyang Foodstuff Packing Materials Factory turns out some 10 kinds of quality goods such as various types of plastic boxes and cases.
The Kangson Vinyl Sheet Factory has lately established a production line of vinyl chloride sheets by adopting an air-expanding method, increasing the variety of goods to scores.
With the conviction that it could put its production lines on an intensive footing without increasing the area of production if it applies the air-expanding method, the factory has set up a production line based on recycled vinyl chloride to make life buoy and jacket, raincoat, and children’s balls and toys.
As the raw materials are entirely waste vinyl chloride, the cost of products is far less.
The Pyongyang Thermal Power Station has developed a technique for producing glass fabric with great resistance to heat and acid by recycling waste glass and established a corresponding production line, thus making it possible to cut the cost of power production and conduct the overhaul of the generating equipment as planned.
The Wonsan Footwear Factory has solved some technical problems including the rational ratio of mixing plasticizer and heat stabilizer and, therefore, produced quality goods from such recycled materials as old cloth and used tyres.
