- Visit to the regional-industry factories in Songchon county-
Songchon County in South Phyongan Province has long been famous for tobacco, silk and medicinal chestnut.
It has become more famous after modern regional-industry factories were built as the first entities of the regional development policy.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un proclaimed the Regional Development 20×10 Policy at the Tenth Session of the 14th Supreme People’s Assembly, and energetically led the work for its implementation.
Attaching great importance to the construction of the regional-industry factories in Songchon County, he visited the county several times, like attending the groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies of those factories.
Thanks to his painstaking efforts, the factories were inaugurated in December last year.
The factories, which meet the features of the area and whose production lines are put on a highly automated and scientific footing, produce various kinds of goods needed for the locals’ material and cultural life.
The goods include soybean paste and soy sauce, candy, biscuit, chestnut jam–a regional specialty–drinks and plastic products and rose and lemon flavour soaps of various colours.
These are a source of pride for the regional people as they are made from raw materials abundant in the county.
Officials and employees of the factories are devoting all their wisdom and passion to producing famous products, symbolic of the features of their region and favoured by the regional people.
