Enlarged plenary meetings of the Pyongyang municipal and provincial committees of the Workers' Party of Korea took place from July 3 to 6 to implement the decisions of the Twelfth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK.
Present at the plenary meetings were members and alternate members of provincial Party committees. And present as observers were officials of Party and power organs, administrative and economic organs and other bodies in relevant areas.
The plenary meetings analyzed and reviewed the work for the first half of this year and discussed practical issues for making more substantial progress in implementing the decisions of the plenary meeting of the Party Central Committee.
Reports were made at the plenary meetings.
The reporters stressed that the militant tasks set forth at the plenary meeting of the Party Central Committee are a great action programme for bringing earlier the era of comprehensive prosperity of Korean-style socialism by firmly maintaining the uptrend of national development.
The plenary meetings analyzed and reviewed the successes and experience gained and some deviations and lessons made in the course of implementing the major policies of the Party and the state in the first half of the year. They also presented ways for dynamically conducting the work for the second half of the year.
At the plenary meetings, the reporters called upon all officials to hold fast to the ideas of believing in the people as in Heaven, single-minded unity and self-reliance as the treasured sword of sure victory and make more courageous, effective and intensive efforts to greet the Ninth Congress of the WPK as a congress of victors and glory.

Adopted at the plenary meetings with unanimous approval were decisions drawn up amid the immense enthusiasm of the participants.
