The Ryongaksan Soap Factory, situated at the foot of beautiful Mt Ryongak in the capital city of Pyongyang, is a factory well-known for producing a variety of goods.
Its typical products include functional shampoo, conditioner, liquid soap and detergents for washing babies containing extracts from insam, hemp, peppermint, mugwort and various components.
It also produces detergents for metal, tile, glass, plastics and various other things and a variety of sterilizing and anti-discoloring liquid laundry soaps and softeners.
The factory is closely associated with the warm affection of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un for the people. With a lofty intention that everything that is to be used by them should be of best quality, he selected the site for the factory and named it.
In June 2016 when the equipment and machines were being installed in the factory, he visited it to guide its construction. That day he said that it was a factory badly needed for the people and the Party was waiting for its completion.
In October that year he visited the completed factory and went round its various places, saying that he felt pleased and relieved of the accumulated fatigue to think that the people would be happy with the quality liquid soaps and detergents of various kinds produced at the factory.
Jong Myong Hwa, PhD and chief engineer of the factory, said that the factory produced only 31 varieties in 6 kinds at the time of its inauguration, but now it churns out more than 250 varieties in over 80 kinds.
Many of its products have been awarded certificates and medals at several exhibitions and shows like the light industrial goods exhibition “Development of Light Industry-2023.” More noticeably, insam shampoo, hemp shampoo and many other products were highly appreciated at an international goods and service exhibition recently held in a foreign country.
The factory is now endeavouring to produce multifunctional goods that meet the global trend and the tastes of consumers.
