Today the DPRK is confidently attaining the phased goals for building a rich country with a strong army through the first arduous journey and vigorous stride of great pioneering along the milestone of victory indicated by the Workers’ Party of Korea.

This is well evidenced by the launching ceremonies of the new-type multi-mission destroyers, new entities for firmly guaranteeing the maritime sovereignty of the Republic, held on April 25 and June 12.

The birth of the new-type multi-mission destroyers, which are an ensemble of the national economy and an aggregate of self-reliant defence technology and which are equipped with the powerful cutting-edge strike weapon systems of the Korean style, is a brilliant fruition of the outstanding leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un , and a valuable victory won by the strong aspiration and passion and indomitable spirit of the Korean people to outpace the world with the conviction in their own strength and courageous struggle.

Kim Jong Un is continuing an uninterrupted journey for bolstering up the country’s military muscles.

This year alone, he paid a congratulatory visit to the Ministry of Defence on the occasion of the founding anniversary of the Korean People’s Army and set forth important tasks which would serve as the guidelines for further strengthening the KPA into a matchless revolutionary army. And he gave field guidance over military drills and test-fires.

Thanks to him, the KPA’s military hardware are constantly being updated and sophisticated.

On February 24, he visited Kim Il Sung University of Politics and clarified its important mission and role as the supreme military and political institution. When he inspected Kang Kon Military Academy, he instructed that the academy should make sure that all its students carry forward the faith of loyalty and patriotic spirit consistently cherished by the commanding officers of the revolutionary armed forces, from the first generation of army founding to the present one. The important instructions he gave that day serve as a weapon of practice with which to faithfully support the Party’s idea of building a powerful army with the rapid development of military education.

He also visited the training base of the special operations units of the KPA and guided their general training. In the training the brave combatants, who had grown up to be the core vanguard of the armed forces of the DPRK, fully demonstrated the strong independent operations capability and the fighting spirit and crack-shot marksmanship of the invincible army.

He worked day and night to steadily beef up the national defence capabilities. His strenuous efforts gave birth to the test-fire of new-type intermediate-range hypersonic ballistic missile which fully demonstrated the potentiality and development speed of the inexhaustible self-defensive technical forces fully capable of coping with even the prospective threats, the test-fire of sea (underwater)-to-surface strategic cruise guided weapons, the latest anti-aircraft missile system which entered full-scale production and reconnaissance and suicide attack drones, reconnaissance and intelligence gathering means and electronic jamming and attack systems that have been newly developed.

Thanks to his painstaking efforts to make the armed forces of the DPRK a treasured sword for defending justice and peace, the mightiness and matchless fighting efficiency of the country’s armed forces are steadily growing and developing.
