One day in November 2021, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un stopped by the Junghung Farm during his visit to the city of Samjiyon which had been transformed into a model of modern mountainous city.
After exchanging greetings with the officials who received him, he said that he came there that day to see its farmers in delight after they had moved into new houses.
The farm had been renovated as a model socialist rural community according to the plan advanced by Kim Jong Un during his visit to it in July 2018.
He said that as the farm villages in Samjiyon including those at the Junghung Farm had been built along the socialist line and all the farmers liked them, it can be said that they passed the exam, adding that the newly-built farm villages in the city are a model of the rural villages we intend to build in all other parts of the country in the future.
That day he noted that the village in the seat of Junghung-ri is an exemplary rural village and a prototype of rural rejuvenation, and that the Party intends to build rural villages of such a standard not only in Samjiyon but also in all other parts of the country and continued:
We should build up all rural villages across the country at the level on a par with that of the village in the seat of Junghung-ri. This is not a pipedream but our struggle task and goal. And this is an undertaking we must fulfil in our generation without fail.
At the Fourth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea held after his visit, Kim Jong Un put forward the rural revolution programme in the new era and called for opening up a new phase of rapid development of the countryside and aggressively speeding up the comprehensive development of society by regarding the rural revolution as the supreme task that our generation should shoulder and without fail carry out for the younger generations and working hard for its fulfilment.
