Worldwide Example of Anti-Colonial Struggle for National Liberation

We are celebrating the 80 th anniversary of national liberation with significance in a dynamic period when the valiant spirit and limitless strength of our state is at its height, ushering in the new era of overall national prosperity.
President Kim Il Sung led the anti-Japanese war to brilliant victory under the banner of independence by relying on our own efforts to achieve the great historic cause of national liberation, thus creating a worldwide example of anti-colonial struggle for national liberation.
In the grimmest period of national ruin, President Kim Il Sung embarked on the road of revolution with a high aim to liberate the country. He laid down the original line of armed struggle that an armed enemy should always be countered with arms, and founded the Korean People’s Revolutionary Army which was the first Juche-type revolutionary armed forces.
In the whole course of the anti-Japanese war, President Kim Il Sung led the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle to brilliant victory. He created superb guerrilla strategies and tactics, united the broad anti-Japanese patriotic forces as one, and stood in the forefront to overcome severe crisis and difficulties.
Through the great victory in the great cause of national liberation, our country that was once dimmed on the world map regained her dignity and sovereignty. It was a great auspicious event that brought about a fundamental change in shaping our people’s destiny. It was also a historic event that opened up a broad way for the construction of an independent sovereign state.
President Kim Il Sung won back our country and Chairman Kim Jong Il added brilliance to it. Today our country is shining brightly across the whole world as an ever-prosperous and powerful country, as we hold respected Comrade Kim Jong Un in high esteem.
Our people will forever glorify the immortal patriotic cause of President Kim Il Sung . Under the wise leadership of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un , we will make great strides in the historic advance towards overall national prosperity and further display our national dignity and prestige to the whole world.
