High-handed and arbitrary practices by imperialists are getting ever more outrageous in the international arena.

In recent years, the Western forces led by the US have been going to the extremes of adding fuel to armed conflicts in Europe, the Middle East and other regions of the world and interfering in the internal affairs of those countries pursuing independent policies.

The military and political confrontation is flaring up, and danger of war is looming larger and larger in the Northeast Asian region centring on the Korean peninsula. This grave situation is entirely attributable to the imperialists’ moves for confrontation between camps.

Their reckless moves for aggression geared to realizing their ambition for world domination are a wanton violation of and blatant challenge to the aspiration and desire of mankind to enjoy a peaceful and stable life.

Amid the rapidly changing trend of the times and complicated international political situation, the anti-imperialist independent forces are demonstrating their might more powerfully, overpowering the imperialists’ high-handedness.

Socialism is the most powerful, independent force that can put an end to the tyranny of imperialism.

The strong desire and unyielding struggle of the masses to lead an independent life against domination, plunder and oppression gave birth to socialism, the most progressive idea, and the entity of a socialist state embodying the idea.

From the first day of its birth, socialism has consolidated its existence through the fierce struggle against imperialism.

The proud course of development of the DPRK, which has won victory after victory while demonstrating its invincible might, clearly proves that socialism is justice and sure to win.

Back to the 1990s the imperialist allied forces imposed unprecedentedly harsh pressure on the DPRK across the board in the fields of politics, the economy and military in an attempt to stifle the latter that was invariably advancing along the road of socialism under the uplifted banner of independence without any slightest vacillation or hesitation despite the worldwide political upheavals. The DPRK became an arena of fierce showdown between independence and domination, justice and injustice and socialism and imperialism. In the grim period, when it would be decided whether the cause of mankind for independence would be mercilessly trampled down by the imperialists’ high-handed and arbitrary practices or whether it would courageously advance standing the trial of history, the DPRK rather consolidated its politico-ideological and military position of socialism rock-solid and resolutely rose up against the imperialists’ anti-socialist offensive. The invincible might of the DPRK as an impregnable fortress of socialism was more vividly demonstrated in the fierce showdown with imperialism.

Socialist Korea of Juche has clearly proved the immutable truth that no challenge can check the trend of history towards independence and justice.
