The workers at the Sangwon Cement Complex are bringing about a surge in production.
The 11th Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea held in December 2024 decided to carry out huge construction projects this year and put forward the complex in the vanguard of the struggle for boosting cement production.
To hit this year’s target of increased cement production, the complex had to produce almost every month an additional amount of cement besides its monthly production plan. The amount was equal to the output it had additionally produced in the whole previous year.
Having carried out its national economic plan for the first half of this year ahead of schedule, it is continuing to renew the production record every month in the second half.
It has completed the maintenance and repair of cement production line No. 1 in keeping with the technical requirements and conducted several medium- and small-scale blastings, securing a lot of reserve mineral.
A key to these successes is in the fact that it has given definite precedence to science and technology.
The Sangwon Limestone Mine successfully conducted a blasting, the largest of its kind since its inauguration, by inventing new methods of linking detonators and applying rational blasting methods and remodelled the large-scale comprehensive crusher, thus greatly helping the complex achieve the highest monthly production record.
Meanwhile, the technicians and skilled workers of the complex produced the castings which are strongly resistant to heat and abrasion, so as to extend the repair cycle of the equipment while reducing the production cost markedly than before.
Such sci-tech achievements firmly guarantee the complex’s increased cement production and steady advance.
