The Embassy of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) in Moscow hosted a reception on October 9 on the occasion of the 80 th founding anniversary of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK).

Present there on invitation were Comrade Gennadi Zhuganov, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Comrade Ivan Melinikov, First Deputy Speaker of the State Duma, Comrade Andrei Buliga, Vice-Minister of Defense, and Comrade Vitaly Shulika, Vice-Minister of Interior, and other personages of the political parties, government, parliament, organizations and institutions of Russia including the State Duma, the Federation Council, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Interior, the Party for Peace and Unity, the Russian Association for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK, the Orchestra of the 21 st Century and TASS.

Comrade Sin Hong Chol, DPRK Ambassador to Russia and staff members of his embassy were present.

The participants laid a flower basket and bouquets before the art work depicting President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il standing together and paid tribute to them.

They looked round the photos dedicated to the noble revolutionary careers of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il and the immortal exploits performed by respected Comrade Kim Jong Un for the development of the DPRK-Russia friendly relations, the immortal famous works of the peerlessly great men and the photos showing the invincible might and proud development of the DPRK.

Speeches were made at the reception.

The DPRK Ambassador said that the WPK has pioneered the road of building a powerful country independent in politics, self-supporting in economy and self-reliant in national defence while strengthening the irresistible might of single-minded unity with its experienced and seasoned leadership for a long period since its founding.

It is the greatest exploit of the WPK that it has put the dignity and prestige of the DPRK on the highest level while firmly defending the state sovereignty, development environment and security interests by building the strongest national defence capability in the present world where tyranny and arbitrary practices are rampant, the Ambassador added.

The First Deputy Speaker of the State Duma said that the DPRK would be unthinkable apart from the strong political will and resolute struggle of the WPK.

He said that the WPK has consistently applied the people-first principle and staunchly implemented the line of overall state development under the leadership of Comrade Kim Jong Un and that the Regional Development 20×10 Policy being pushed ahead with by the DPRK draws great attention of the world.

He went on:

The reality proves that for Russia, the relations with the DPRK are not one of world’s agenda but a strategic state policy line which conforms to the interests of the peoples of the two countries.

President Putin said that the relations between the two countries are special relations of trust, friendship and alliance.

I pay homage to the heroes who fell in battle fields, recollecting with gratitude the soldiers of the Korean People’s Army who took part in the operations for liberating the Kursk area.

he Vice-Minister of Defence said that the fraternal relations between Russia and the DPRK are now expanding actively in all fields.

He continued:

The deep trust between the top leaders of the two countries is dynamically developing the bilateral relations.

I am convinced that the Russia-DPRK friendly relations will develop in conformity with the wellbeing of the peoples of the two countries, and the proud traditions of mutual cooperation and militant friendship will continue.

The participants in the reception toasted to the good health of Comrade Kim Jong Un , President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, to the good health of Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, President of the Russian Federation, and to the development of the DPRK-Russia friendly and cooperative relations.

Meanwhile, the DPRK Missions in Vladivostok and Khabarovsk of Russia hosted receptions on October 3 and 9 on the occasion of the 80 th founding anniversary of the WPK.
