The massage therapy department of the acupuncture and moxibustion hospital of the Koryo Medicine General Hospital effectively treats patients with vertebral limb arthropathy including cervical spondylosis, slipped disk, sacroiliac joint disease and periarthritis of shoulder.
Department chief Hong Yu Gyong and doctors Kim Kyong Jun and On Yong Nam have studied and introduced rational methods of traditional Koryo therapies.
In particular, they measured the values of each symmetrical part of the body during manual treatment of slipped disc and compared them before and after the treatment.
In the course of this, they found the principle of mechanical balance compensation, which can put treatment on a more scientific footing.
In addition, they apply new methods to the treatment of degenerative gonarthrosis, cervical spondylotic radiculopathy, sacroiliac orthosis and other diseases.
They made it possible to double the effect of orthodontic treatment of sacroiliac joints by using pelvic ceiling in the treatment.
The treatment methods developed by the department have been introduced into hospitals across the country through the telemedicine system and won at several national exhibitions of sci-tech achievements in the field of public health.
