Natural Koryo Medicine Good for Treatment of Gynaecological Diseases

In general, hormone replacements and NSAIDs are used for the treatment of gynaecologic diseases including functional dysmenorrhea.
However, this method causes side effects, and if a patient stops taking the medicines, her symptoms soon come back.
Song Ji Yon, a researcher at the Medical Biology Institute of the Academy of Medical Sciences under the Ministry of Public Health, made insam and samul capsules by optimizing the ratio of mixing Koryo medicinal materials for samulthang traditionally used for the treatment of gynaecologic diseases with the components of Koryo insam, thus making progress in the treatment of functional dysmenorrhea.
In the past a voluminous dose and severe indigestion were unavoidable when using samulhwan. But the newly developed medicine brings about high therapeutic effect with a small dose without producing any side effects.
Kim Song Gyong living in Jongbaek-dong No. 2, Rangnang District, who suffered from menstrual disorders for many years, said:
“The new medicine has produced quick and clear therapeutic effects, which is something unimaginable when using samulhwan alone. It has cured me wonderfully.”
As it has wonderful effects on treating functional dysmenorrhea, infertility, climacteric disturbance, autonomic imbalance, lethargy, headache, loss of appetite, acrohypothermy and other gynaecologic diseases, the new medicine enjoys growing popularity. The natural Koryo medicine won a national patent.
