Tangible results have been achieved in the effort to implement the comprehensive mechanization of the rural economy.

For the past four years, renovation projects have been completed in over ten farm machine producers and the yearly targets in the development plan of farm machines have been attained.

Amid the growing output from the first year of implementing the programme for the rural revolution in the new era, nearly 43 000 farm machines were produced in 2023, and the variety and number of farm machines have gone up remarkably year on year. As a result, the proportion of mechanical application in farm work surpassed that of last year.

The Kumsong Tractor Factory produced a large number of farm machines including tractors for the agricultural sector after it carried out the first- and second-stage renovation projects to develop itself as a comprehensive factory that produces high-horsepower tractors and a variety of other efficient farm machines and leads the country’s farm machine industry.

Meanwhile, the Namsi Livestock Farming Machine Factory and the Sariwon Tractor Parts Factory wrapped up the projects to modernize their machines and equipment, and produced scores of kinds of farm machine parts.

The Kangso Sprinkler Factory concentrated efforts on improving the quality of goods and developing new products, thus producing over 100 000 sprinklers and hundreds of thousands of sprayers this year alone.

The tractor parts factories in Jongju and Haeju, the Huichon Precision Machine Factory and the Sunchon Engine Factory refurnished their production lines and installed high-performance machines and equipment, while the Hamhung Trailer Farm Machine Factory and the Haeju Farm Machine Factory manufactured dozens of kinds of farm machines including rice combine harvester, thresher and rice transplanting machine, as well as their parts.

The city and county farm machine stations across the country including those in the counties of Ongjin, Sinchon and Yonan of South Hwanghae Province and in the city of Songnim and the counties of Suan and Hwangju of North Hwanghae Province channelled much effort into manufacturing several kinds of farm machines that are easy to handle and simple in structure. As a result, they produced such machines as tractor-drawn cart, wheat and barley harvester, combined soil management machine, cereal dryer and their accessories and parts.

The farm machine stations in North Phyongan Province manufactured a large number of farm machines including mobile rice combine harvester and wheat and barley sowing machine by making effective use of their existing production foundation and capacity.
