Days ago, the inauguration ceremony of 10 000 flats at the fourth stage in the Hwasong area celebrating the overfulfilment of the five-year plan of capital city construction set forth at the Eighth Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea was held in Pyongyang to be followed by the groundbreaking ceremony of the fifth-stage construction project.
In other words, this year’s construction campaign started according to the long-term plan for transforming the capital city more wonderfully.
Over the past five years the capital city construction was dynamically pushed according to the WPK’s ambitious plan and intention to accelerate the simultaneous and comprehensive rejuvenation of the whole country by turning its capital into the people’s ideal city and making sure that the appearance of the capital city undergoing uninterrupted progress is reflected in all other parts of the country.
The magnificent monumental edifices symbolic of the era were built year after year, changing the appearance of the country and increasing the wealth of the people accordingly.
Apartment houses for nearly 60 000 households and public buildings epitomizing advanced civilization were built in the Songsin, Songhwa, Hwasong and other areas to create new ideal streets for the people, and the Hwasong area was turned into a modern urban administrative district.
With the construction projects that are under way across the country, the Korean revolution is following step by step the course of innovation and leap forward. This has become an irreversible trend of the revolution and a mode of its advance.
The goal of the Party is to further accelerate this transformation and make it a permanent custom of socialist Korea to break the ground at the beginning of the year and witness new miraculous construction results in the days of seeing off that year.
Addressing the groundbreaking ceremony of the fifth-stage construction project in the Hwasong area, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said that with the beginning of the fifth-stage construction project in the Hwasong area, the capital city construction that was basically aimed at solving the housing problem is switching over to a new phase of transforming the overall appearance of the capital city on a large scale, adding that over the few years to come we will get rid of those elements that are inappropriate for the capital city in view of its overall formation and build modern streets so as to bring about another facelift of the city, which will in turn augment its strategic position and role.
The start of the fifth-stage construction in the Hwasong area is a striking demonstration of the strong revolutionary spirit and power for courageous advance unique to the WPK which advances indomitably and bravely towards the far-reaching ideal and goal for building a highly civilized and prosperous country by giving top precedence to fulfilling the people’s long-cherished desire over all other affairs.
