There took place a short course for the participants in the Ninth Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea in Pyongyang, the capital city of the DPRK, on February 27.

Lecturers were Kim Jae Ryong, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau and secretary of the Central Committee of the WPK, and Ju Chang Il, secretary of the WPK Central Committee.

The short course dealt with the methodological and practical issues arising in making sure that the participants in the Ninth Party Congress, including the newly elected members of the Party central leadership, deeply grasp the idea and spirit of the Congress and play a core and vanguard role in implementing the decisions of the Congress.

The lecturers called on all the participants in the Congress to make bolder efforts in the vanguard of the great pioneering struggle for national prosperity and transformation and work hard to pave a new avenue towards comprehensive prosperity of socialism, indicated by the Congress, so as to surely guarantee the successful implementation of the tasks of the gigantic struggle.

They underlined the need for the participants in the Congress to become the core and backbone in upholding the ideology and leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un , regarding it as their first mission and sacred duty to more thoroughly establish the Party Central Committee’s unified leadership system.

They called for making the masses’ inexhaustible spiritual strength and ever-soaring loyalty and patriotic enthusiasm result in the implementation of the Party decisions by giving definite priority to political work and for making fundamental innovations in the work of the sectors and units under their charge, while firmly maintaining the position and attitude of giving priority to the interests of the Party and the state.

The short course urged the participants to bring about sure progress and leaps forward by drawing up stepwise, annual plans for implementing the decisions of the Party Congress in such a way as to ensure their development-oriented nature and scientific accuracy on the basis of a correct calculation of the specific situation and circumstances of the sectors and units under their charge and by giving full play to the working spirit and traits of self-reliance and self-sustenance.

The lecturers appealed to the participants to bring about substantial successes and actual changes awaited and welcomed by the people by making selfless, devoted efforts for the good of the people in the whole course of the struggle for implementing the decisions of the Party Congress, true to the intention of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un on making devoted service for the people’s wellbeing.

They underscored the need for all provinces, cities and counties to more meticulously organize their work so that the model establishments for regional development, provided by the Party with much effort, can tangibly contribute to the material and cultural life of the people, and to design and push ahead with the undertakings in a bold and big way for developing the economy to meet the regional features and promoting the wellbeing of the people.

The short course stressed the importance of the issue for the officials to give top priority to the work for improving the people’s living standards, regarding the Party’s outlook on people as a firm principle.

Through the short course, the participants deeply cherished the noble intention of the Party Central Committee to hasten the prosperity and development of their great state and bring more substantial benefits to the people as early as possible, invariably holding aloft the banner of struggle and progress–the ideas of “The People are god”, the single-minded unity and self-reliance.

They were all filled with great enthusiasm to fully discharge their responsibility and display refined leadership ability and high executive faculty in the struggle for implementing the decisions of the Party Congress by single-mindedly and faithfully upholding the ideology and leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un .
