Many universities have created a new educational environment.
This year Kim Il Sung University has equipped five experimental education centres, such as that for life sciences, with hundreds of kinds of modern experimental apparatuses and instruments.
Kim Chaek University of Technology, which set up an integrated experimental education hall last year, has established several experimental education centres for engine engineering, metal engineering and physics this year.
The University of Sciences has arranged at least 60 laboratories at seven experimental education centres, while Pyongyang University of Mechanical Engineering has built five similar centres including that for automobile engineering. These centres help the universities conduct education by means of visual aids and real things and through experiment and practice.
By arranging a modern integrated practice workshop, Pyongyang College of Electric Engineering has helped students build their capacity.
Efforts have been intensified to train medical workers amid the strengthened material foundation of the public health sector.
Phyongsong College of Medical Sciences has newly arranged an experimental education hall equipped with dozens of kinds of instruments such as full-length operational models. Pyongyang University of Medical Sciences, Sariwon College of Koryo Pharmacology and other institutions have set up similar facilities in which students can conduct simulation operations so as to develop their practical skills.
Similar laboratories have been set up at Rajin University of Marine Transport and other institutions as part of the effort to ensure a close combination of theoretical and practical education.
