One day in August 2014, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the Chollima Tile Factory.
He dropped in at the indoor exhibition hall where various kinds of tiles produced by the factory, including ceramic roofing tiles, were on display along the walls according to their variety, size and colour.
Looking round the exhibits, he said with great satisfaction that he was pleased to see a variety of tiles including exterior and interior tiles, floor tiles and roofing tiles before he added: How good it is to produce such quality building materials at will with domestic resources and technology. I feel like seeing them again and again.
Just as we should rely on our resources and technology in the production of building materials, so we must make the most of our building materials with a feeling of attachment to our own things in construction as well. Only then can we push ahead with construction by our own efforts without relying on other countries and develop the building-materials industry, he noted.
That day he went round the grinding and finishing process.
When he cast a satisfactory eye on the microlite and artificial marbles on display in the production line, a senior official of the factory, pointing at a product, explained that it had been newly developed by the factory.
Going over the new product carefully, Kim Jong Un spoke highly of the achievement made by the officials, workers and technicians of the factory, saying that they had developed such a wonderful microlite after 100-odd rounds of test.
As he thought that the spirit of the factory’s workers to develop and produce new products with their own efforts and technology is more valuable than anything else, he was so pleased with their success and highly appreciated it.
