Partial resection of the ischial tuberosity developed by the general surgery department of the South Hwanghae Provincial General Hospital is recognized as an effective method for treating the ischial tuberosity decubitus in patients with hemiplegia.
Department chief Kim Chol Jun identified the regions vulnerable to chronic decubitus in the hemiplegia patients bedridden for a long time due to vertebral fractures and discovered the cause of the state in the course of years-long research and clinical practice. On the basis of this, he established a new method of operation.
This procedure has attracted the attention of the academic circle because it shortens the length of treatment, reduces the recurrence rate, and shows more than 95% treatment rate.
His clinical research findings were published and highly appreciated at the National Sci-tech Presentation and Exhibition of the Epidemic Prevention and Public Health Sectors-2022 and the 11th national symposium on the general conference of surgeons held last year.
