The AI Technology Institute of the AI Faculty of Kim Il Sung University has been designated as one of the top ten IT businesses of 2025.
This has earned the institute fame as one of the most successful IT businesses in the country for the fifth time after 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2023.
It has mainly engaged in the AI-related research, production and service.
It developed and introduced programs for putting the business of the government and different fields of the national economy on an IT basis. Now it develops and disseminates AI programs and products such as machine translation and speech and character recognition.
The programs and IT products developed by the institute have gained recognition at annual national exhibition of IT achievements.
At the 2022 exhibition, the online machine translation system was appreciated as one of the top ten IT products, and the multilingual machine translation program, the big data processing system and other three as part of excellent IT products.
The multilingual machine translation program is enjoying popularity among users for its higher accuracy than the previous versions.
This year, an integrated production system of the Ragwon County Offshore Farm was counted as one of the top ten IT products of 2025.
The institute also plays a major role in putting the country’s hydro-meteorology, public health, agriculture and education on an IT footing.
Its achievements have been adopted by the Pyongyang General Hospital, the Sci-Tech Complex, the offshore farms in Sinpho City and Ragwon County, the Wonsan Kalma Coastal Tourist Area and other establishments.
