One day in April 2015, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited a power station under construction.
He praised the youth shock brigade members involved in the construction of the power station for their painstaking efforts, saying that he could see at the construction site that they had done a lot of work so far and taken much trouble to build the station in the face of the severe cold in the Paektu area.
Finding piers of a bridge on the transportation route of concrete mixture which was built by the shock brigade by employing unique construction method while looking round the construction site that day, he spoke highly of their work style, saying that such method can be invented only by our young people who try hard to save cement and shorten the period of the project.
Seeing large poster boards and pencil drawings showing the fighting spirit and good deeds of the brigade members and other builders, he said that he was greatly inspired by the ideological and mental qualities of the youth shock brigade members who actively support the Party and always advance straight forward following the Party. Then he asked accompanying officials to tell the young people that he had called on them to build a powerful socialist country as early as possible, he believing in them and they believing in him.
That day he looked round tree nurseries the shock brigade members had arranged while building the power station and said that they were pushing ahead with afforestation with patriotic mind.
Afterwards, he re-visited the power station when they finished building its dam. He expressed great trust that the members of the youth shock brigade who created the legendary tale of heroic youth in the Paektu area were all heroes, and named the power station the “Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station” .
