A team involving scientists and researchers at Pyongyang University of Mechanical Engineering and research institutions has recently established a new rice cleaning line.
The intensive line designed to increase output can save energy, labour, land and cost as it requires approximately one-tenth of the previous production area and dispenses with dozens of equipment used for cleaning and transporting rice.
The new line with an annual capacity of tens of thousands of tons consists of a high-performance unhulled rice separator and other facilities.
Globally, there is a trend of gaining economic profits by adopting various facilities, humidification treatment technique and digitized management system for rice cleaning. Based on a detailed analysis of this trend and the situation in different grain cleaning units, the team made strenuous efforts to complete a new rice cleaning line.
In designing the line they worked out rational parameters to ensure optimal performance by using a laterally vibrating separator consisting of three-stage sieves which can ensure 100% rate of unhulled rice separation, and remodelled the dust collection system and rice bran separation system.
Meanwhile, they minimized the rate of broken rice so as to ensure the output according to the national standard.
They ran the line more than ten times on a trial basis to reconfirm the technical specifications for every process and proved its scientific accuracy and effectiveness through months of its introduction.
The line is paying off at the grain cleaning units across the country.
