So far this year, a number of construction projects contributing to promoting economic construction and improving people’s living standards have been completed one after another.
Last month alone dozens of new construction projects were inaugurated in different parts of the country.
A typical example is the Sinuiju Combined Greenhouse Farm in North Phyongan Province.
The farm, the fourth of its kind among the large-scale greenhouse farms built in the DPRK in recent years, is comprised of well over a thousand modern greenhouses of different types, a vegetable science research centre, modern houses and recreational facilities, all in good harmony with distinctive landscape.
The fishing sector built the Wonsan General Fishing Implements Factory, the Jikha Atlantic Salmon Pedigree Farm and the croaker pedigree farm at the Ongjin West Sea Fish Farm.
The first district of Aedo Tideland in North Phyongan Province, the catalyst production base in the Namhung Youth Chemical Complex, the slow-acting granule urea fertilizer production line in the Hungnam Fertilizer Complex, the finishing building materials factory and tree nursery in Kaesong Municipality, the Kyongam Building Materials Factory, the Sariwon Tannery, the Unpha Cement Factory, the Academy of Forestry and the Farm Machine Institute were inaugurated and the Haeju Farm Machine Factory was remodelled, all contributing to solidifying the foundation for the independent economic development.
The Onpho Working People’s Holiday Camp was renovated as a comprehensive service centre for leisure activities and medical treatment and the area of Yombunjin Coastal Park boasting diverse service conditions and environment was built, making it possible for the local people to enjoy a highly civilized life in good health to their heart’s content.
