Features of Theory of Comprehensive Socialist Development

When you read essays and editorials explaining the DPRK’s comprehensive socialist development and look into the achievements made in the country’s revolutionary practice, you can tell that it is evidently developing the whole of society across the board on the basis of its own ideology and theory and in its own way.

First, the theory of comprehensive socialist development is featured by its originality.

This is a theory of Korean-style comprehensive socialist development, the first of its kind, advanced by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who leads the DPRK towards prosperity by administering the people-first political mode. The ideological starting point of the theory is not based on the Marxist theory of comprehensive human development, but it is an outcome of the people-first idea of believing in people as in Heaven and serving them devotedly, a revolutionary idea that suits the actual situation of the DPRK and originates from the Juche idea. In terms of composition and content, the theory is original and definite in people-oriented, revolutionary and socialist characters.

In consideration of the initiative of the programme for rural revolution in the new era and the Regional Development 20×10 Policy and the course of their implementation, you can fully notice that this approach is an original way of achieving comprehensive development that cannot be found elsewhere in the world but can only be adopted by the DPRK.

Second, the theory is characterized by a unique and effective way of implementation.

The DPRK is seeking comprehensive social development as suited to its actual situation and by relying on its own revolutionary force, not by dint of capital or the principle of the market economy. This is the fundamental feature that distinguishes it from capitalist society.

At present, the DPRK is carrying out a great revolution to develop its regions and transform its countryside.

This bid is geared to bridging the economic and cultural gap between towns and rural areas, between the capital and the regions, as early as possible and making the whole of the country develop in a balanced and even manner.

For regional construction army units are dispatched, all units in cities are mobilized and brisk motivational activities are conducted in every workplace–a scene that the entire country seems to form a grand socialist family. This cannot be found in other places of the world.

The DPRK’s brilliant achievements in construction in Kim Jong Un ’s era are enough to make all understand how inexhaustible the strength of the masses of the people educated and armed with the leader’s revolutionary idea is.

It is a well-known fact that numerous monumental edifices have sprung up in recent years across the country from the city of Samjiyon to the Wonsan Kalma Coastal Tourist Area.

The parliament of an advanced Western country has dealt with an underground railway renovation project for over a decade but it still fails to reach an agreement. However, the DPRK ensures that the groundbreaking ceremony of a large-scale project is soon followed by the inauguration one in the new era of comprehensive socialist development. Given this, there is no way to compare the two countries in terms of the rate and efficiency of social development.

I’ve no doubt that the DPRK will soon develop into a nation in which everyone leads an equally affluent and happy life, exciting the world’s envy.
