In February when he attended the inauguration ceremony of 10 000 flats at the fourth stage in the Hwasong area, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un met those who performed distinguished feats of labour in the capital city construction to encourage them.
Hwang Ryong Hwan was one of them. He works as a workteam leader at the Chongnyu Construction Management Bureau of the Pyongyang Construction Commission.
Discharged from military service in the mid-1990s, he returned home and made up his mind to become a capital city builder and play his part in promoting the prosperity of his country. During his military service Hwang was involved in the construction of a power plant. In that period he got some construction skills. He tried hard to improve his skills.
Several years later, he became a versatile worker.
A little over a decade ago he was appointed workteam leader when the construction of Changjon Street was at its height in Pyongyang.
He strove to make his workteam an efficient, united and harmonious group.
He taught his colleagues the construction methods while ensuring that they maintained a high quality in all structures.
Thanks to his persevering efforts, the workteam members developed into skilful workers who can carry out any difficult tasks with concerted efforts, and did their part in building Mirae Scientists Street, Ryomyong Street, Songhwa Street, Hwasong Street, Rimhung Street and other structures.
The state honoured him as a merited person of socialist patriotism in acknowledgement of his painstaking efforts and leading role in developing Pyongyang into an imposing city.
