In February 2025, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the hospital and leisure complex in Kangdong County for the Regional Development 20×10 Policy.
At the ceremony he said that as a project for guaranteeing our people’s life and safety and promoting their health, this naturally takes the first priority among all other projects which our Party has planned and is pushing forward to transform our regions and build a cultured, prosperous state, that by the close of this year a modern hospital will go up here, and in the coming ten years, excellent medical service facilities will appear in all cities and counties, and that to think of this, he feels infinitely proud of our really worthwhile and valuable struggle. He then dug the first spadeful of earth to signal the start of the construction project.
Afterwards, he worked heart and soul to make the Kangdong County Hospital an exemplary entity for developing regional public health.
In June that year he visited the construction site to learn in detail about the construction and put forth tasks for making preparations for operating the hospital. In October he inspected again the project which was nearing completion. Our important goal in modernizing the public health sector from now on is to build without fail such modern hospitals as the Kangdong County Hospital in 20 cities and counties every year, he said, adding that a decisive measure should be taken to expand the country’s forces for building the public health facilities.
Under his devoted guidance the project was completed that year.
In November he attended the inauguration ceremony of the Kangdong County Hospital. Looking around the hospital, he said: For our Party which intends to guarantee the people’s rights and interests and promotion of their health and build a more brilliant and affluent future, there is no more worthwhile and honourable revolutionary work than the struggle to build faster many more structures of new civilization heartily welcomed by the people so that they can see them with their own eyes and get substantial benefits in their actual life.
