Over the past five years the Korean revolution has definitely entered the stage of comprehensive development of socialism.

In the period of great upsurge the country channelled much effort into technical renovation, reinforcement and development of different fields of the national economy, with the result that the material and technical foundations were consolidated for growth in production and the prospects for shoring up the economy as a whole were opened.

As the grand regional development policy designed for the simultaneous, balanced and rapid development across the country went into steady expansion, 40 cities and counties built the foundations for their independent development in only two years.

With the implementation of the rural revolution programme in the new era the level of the ideological consciousness of the agricultural workers went up, and at least 110 000 new houses were built across the countryside, giving a facelift to many rural communities.

New houses were also built in once flood-hit areas.

Housing construction went full steam ahead in the capital city of Pyongyang. As a result, new streets, new residential quarters, such as Songhwa, Hwasong, Rimhung and Jonwi streets, appeared one after another in a matter of five years and the 50 000-flat housing construction in the capital city ended up well beyond its original plan.

All these achievements were an outcome of the devoted efforts of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who unveiled a far-reaching blueprint for national prosperity at the Eighth Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea in January 2021 and mobilized the entire population to its implementation.

He advanced the five-point theory of Party building in the new era, the idea of comprehensive development of socialism, the line of transforming all the revolutionary positions in line with the demands of the three revolutions, the new regional development policy, the idea of training reserve revolutionaries and other original revolutionary lines and action programmes, which served as an immortal banner that made it possible to accelerate the all-people advance for the implementation of the resolutions adopted at the Party Congress and step up socialist construction.

He clarified the idea that in order to bring substantial benefits to the people and promote the building of an advanced state, it is necessary to switch over to developing socialist construction in a comprehensive way however difficult and unfavourable the subjective and objective conditions may be and that it comes up as a primary task of the revolution of weighty importance that brooks no further delay, and then led the efforts to bring it into practice.

He visited construction sites in different parts of the country so as to usher in a heyday of socialist civilization in the new era. Thanks to his energetic guidance a new era of comprehensive national prosperity when both the capital city and the regions, both urban and rural areas, are transformed alike was ushered in.

Today the Korean people extend heartfelt gratitude to Comrade Kim Jong Un who opened a period of great upsurge in the comprehensive development of socialism by bringing about successive epochal achievements in socialist construction with his far-sighted wisdom, profound thinking and painstaking efforts. Rallied rock-solid behind him, the Korean people are all out in the endeavours to implement the programmes set forth at the Ninth Congress of the WPK in February this year.
