One day in April 2015, the respected GeneralSecretary Kim Jong Un visited theconstruction site of the Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station.
He dropped in at the exhibition hallshowing the achievements of the shock brigade members. As he looked round severalplaces of it, he stopped in front of the education board titled “To cover themountains of the country with green woods”.
An official told him that the shockbrigade had worked out a plan for afforestation, built a youth tree nursery andplanted and tended millions of trees so far.
The General Secretary wore a broad smileon his face with great satisfaction.
Because he felt that their intention toturn all mountains of the country into “gold and treasure mountains” covered withthick forests as desired by the Workers’ Party of Korea was so laudable andpraiseworthy.
Reading the noble intention of the youngpeople in it, he said with satisfaction that he felt invigorated as they wereat the forefront of the campaign for implementing the Party’s ideas anddefending its policies with transparent faith that everything would go well if theydid as instructed by the Party.
That day, referring to the master planfor afforestation of each regiment of the youth shock brigade and visual aids showingthe state of building of tree nurseries and the growing of saplings in the northernalpine region, which were put up by the road in front of the rest home, hepraised the youth shock brigade members for thoroughly implementing the Party’spolicy on afforesting and landscaping the whole country, while pushing aheadwith the construction of the power station. They have also planned to plant anew variety of cosmos at the construction site of the power station, he said,adding that what pleased him most was that the young people had accepted theParty’s policy sensitively.
