One day in October 2020 the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited Kimhwa County.
While enjoying a panoramic view of the well-ordered village built at the foot of a mountain, he pointed to a mountain in front of the village.
The mountain was thickly covered with healthy pine-nut trees which looked scores of years old.
Comrade Kim Jong Un asked who had planted the trees and how old they were. An official answered that a senior official of the county had planted them about 40 years ago together with the residents of the county and tended them with much care.
Comrade Kim Jong Un highly praised the county official saying that he had done something worthwhile.
As scores of years had passed, not many of those who had planted the trees remained and few remembered the county official.
After looking at those green trees and the picturesque mountain, he called the county official a patriot, in appreciation of his contribution to planting the thick pine-nut forest some 40 years earlier.
