An outreach education programme is briskly conducted in the DPRK to strengthen the ranks of medical workers in regions.
It is a consistent policy of the state to expand and strengthen the ranks of regional medical workers in a far-sighted manner in the shortest possible time so as to steadily bring advanced medical care closer to the people. Accordingly, the state ensures that central hospitals dispatch mobile task forces to the hospitals at city and county levels to help them improve their medical service.
The mobile task forces comprise authorities in different departments who are able to give lectures, transfer skills and hold consultations for local health workers.
In recent years, a task force consisting of medical workers from 10-odd central hospitals including Pyongyang General Hospital, Pyongyang University of Medical Sciences Hospital and Kim Man Yu Hospital has been dispatched to the newly-built modern city and county hospitals to train the local medical workers.
Those dispatched to Kusong City Hospital have actively disseminated advanced medical techniques while giving treatment to patients and education to local medical workers, and rendered positive assistance to the hospital to operate as it should.
Other members sent to Kangdong and Ryonggang county hospitals help local medical workers raise their qualifications to a higher level and carry out such treatments that are previously done only at the central- or provincial-level hospitals.
The task forces also direct attention to putting the whole of medical and management activities on an IT basis so that the intelligent healthcare system applied to the city and county hospitals pays off.
