Shortly ago, the US Defense Department officially announced that it is pushing ahead with the procedure for resuming the combined air drill with the south Korean army in December. The US committed itself to stopping military exercises against the DPRK after Singapore DPRK-US summit.
The announcement of the drill after a month since the breakdown of the Stockholm DPRK-US working-level talks amounts to a declaration of confrontation with the DPRK.
The US intention to openly hold war exercise against the DPRK at a sensitive time when the whole world is concerned about the prospects of the DPRK-US relations clearly proves once again its nature as the chieftain harassing world peace and security and the hegemonic state regarding the recourse to military strength as a cure-for-all in settling issues.
The US reckless military frenzy is an extremely provocative and dangerous act of throwing a wet blanket over the spark of the DPRK-US dialogue on the verge of extinction and fanning up an atmosphere of confrontation on the Korean peninsula and the region.
No one will believe that the changed war exercises will also change their aggression nature.
We have already emphasized more than once that the planned joint military exercise can block the bilateral relations from advancing and compel us to reconsider the crucial measures we have already taken.
Our patience is nearing the limitations and we will never overlook the US reckless military moves.
