A terraced residential district is to be built in a peculiar way in the excellent location on the bank of the picturesque Pothong River together with the construction of the dwelling houses for 10 000 flats in the capital city of Pyongyang under the plan of the Party Central Committee to give a face-lift to the city and provide the people with developed living environment and conditions.

The builders who took part in the construction of the Pothong riverside terraced residential district true to the Party's grand policy for capital city construction are full of great pluck and militant enthusiasm to strikingly demonstrate once again all over the world the development of architecture of our socialist country, inexhaustible ideological and mental power and potential of self-supporting economy.

A meeting of officials and builders were held on the spot on Friday to thoroughly carry out the instructions given by the respected General Secretary to build the Pothong riverside terraced residential district into modern and excellent one.

Present there were Jong Sang Hak, Ri Il Hwan and O Su Yong, secretaries of the Central Committee of the Worker's Party of Korea, and other officials of the Party Central Committee and members in charge of construction command and builders.

Ri Il Hwan made a speech.

He said the adoption of the decision at the 8th Congress of the Party and at the 2nd Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Party to build dwelling houses for 50 000 flats in Pyongyang and the initiative to build terraced residential district on the riverside of the Pothong River as a separate project reflect the noble intention of the Party Central Committee to provide our people with highly civilized living conditions at an early date.

He said that the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un unfolded the plan to build modern terraced dwelling houses in the excellent place of the city and provide them to the people and named it the "Pothong Riverside Terraced Residential District". He also said that Kim Jong Un clarified detailed tasks and ways ranging from designing to construction, heating of dwelling houses and traffic and assigned the construction to able core construction units.

He stressed that all the officials and builders who took part in the construction should fully display unusual devotion and unyielding practical ability in the drive for finishing the construction of the residential district by the appointed date true to the intention of the Party Central Committee for devoted service for the people's wellbeing.

He said that the designing sector should work out all project designing to be perfect which thoroughly embodies the Party's Juche-oriented idea of architectural beauty. He also stressed the need for the construction units to promote the organization of emulation drives, create model experience of building city dwelling houses in terms of speed and practicality and thus finish the project in a qualitative way within the date set by the Party.

He ardently appealed to all the officials and builders to build on the highest level the Pothong riverside terraced residential district which is the cradle of happiness looked forward to by our people, true to the far-reaching architectural idea of the General Secretary and thus present the report of loyalty to the Party Central Committee.

They expressed their unshakable will to keep their thought and pace with those of the General Secretary making every dedication for the people and glorify each process of the construction of the dwelling houses with loyalty and exploits.

It was made public how to organize the construction headquarters of the Pothong riverside terraced residential district.

All the officials and builders hardened their firm pledge to enshrine the greatest honor and privilege of taking part in the honorable construction drive for implementing the special militant order given by the Party Central Committee, work miracles of racing against time and thus uphold our Party's plan with loyalty.
