A joint symposium of the Russian political parties and organizations was held on April 8 in Moscow to commemorate the second anniversary of the official visit to the Russian Federation by respected Comrade Kim Jong Un .

Present at the symposium were figures from Communist Party of Russian Federation, Communist Parties-the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, United Russia Party, Party for Peace and Unity of Russia, Liberal Democratic Party of Russia, State Duma, Foreign Ministry, Orchestra of the 21st Century of Russia, Russian Academy of Sciences, United Confederation of Koreans in Russia, and the representatives from organizations of friendship and solidarity with the Korean people and groups for the study of Juche idea as well as the DPRK Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Russia and staff of the Embassy.

Speeches were made at the symposium.

Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Russian Federation who is also head of the Russia-DPRK Friendship Parliamentary Group said that respected Comrade Kim Jong Un , General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea(WPK), made a visit to Russia two years ago and had a meeting with President Putin, and this event served to form a durable bond between the peoples of the two countries.

Underlining that Comrade Kim Jong Un is a wise and erudite leader endowed with noble traits and outstanding art of leadership, he said that the General Secretary of the WPK is devoting all of his mind and soul for the people and the development of socialism by inheriting the ideology of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il .

The Director-General of the First Asian Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation referred to the Russia-DPRK summit meeting that had marked a significant event in the improved bilateral relations, highlighting that the supreme leaders of the two countries had extensive discussions on the issues of further expanding and developing the bilateral cooperation and ensuring peace and security on the Korean peninsula and the region.

Chairwoman of the Party for Peace and Unity of Russia said that an invariable development of friendly relations with the Korean people – who have a brilliant tradition of having defeated two imperialist forces under the leadership of the Great Leader – corresponds as well to the interests of Russia which is aspiring for the building of a powerful state.

The statement adopted at the symposium pointed out that the invincible Russia-DPRK relations of friendship and cooperation which had started in the midst of flames of the anti-Japanese war entered a new stage along with the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, and a cornerstone for expanding and developing the bilateral relations has been laid on the occasion of the visit to Russia by the respected General Secretary.

Noting that the friendly relations between Russia and the DPRK have been continuously developing through generations under the deep attention of the supreme leaders of the two countries, the statement expressed its support for elevating the friendly Russia-DPRK relations onto a higher stage befitting the strategic partnership.
