Today, the Korean people are significantly marking the 3rd anniversary of visit of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un to China’s Dalian City.

Kim Jong Un , general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, on his visit to Dalian City from May 7 to 8 Juche 107 (2018), met again with Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and president of the People's Republic of China and had talks with him.

At the talks, the two top leaders informed each other of their assessment of and views on the recent trend and development of the situation on the Korean peninsula and the political and economic situations of their countries, and stressed the need to promote bilateral friendly and cooperative relations for the better. And they exchanged in-depth views on how to tackle the crucial issues of common concern.

Kim Jong Un said he was very happy that the DPRK-China relations have recently greeted a fresh heyday and undergone further development. Notably, he highly appreciated the close high-level visits between the two parties and the two countries and the unusual strategic communication between the two supreme leaderships.

His historic visit to China served as an important motive force to further promote the special and close relationship, friendship and comradely trust between the two top leaders, strengthen support and cooperation to the socialist cause of the two countries and advance the bilateral friendship in a more vigorous way.

Recorded in the history of DPRK-China friendship are the comradeship formed between President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il and the preceding leaders of China, as well as the feelings of friendship between the peoples of the two countries who are closely tied as one destiny inseparable in the struggle for the common cause.

Out of a desire to remain true to the long-standing historic traditions of friendship and revolutionary obligation between the DPRK and China and to inherit and develop the bilateral relations down through the generations, Kim Jong Un visited China several times and paid close attention to developing the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries.

In April Juche 107 (2018), he met with the head of the International Liaison Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on a visit to the DPRK leading the Chinese art troupe and enjoyed a ballet choreodrama “Red Women Company” of the visiting Chinese art troupe.

In September that year, he met with Li Zhanshu, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of the PRC on a visit to the DPRK as a special envoy of Xi Jinping, to attend the celebrations of the DPRK’s 70th birthday, and other members of the party and government delegation of the PRC. He arranged an art performance and a grand banquet in honour of them.

He sent congratulatory and verbal messages to Xi Jinping on several occasions of holidays and anniversaries, including the 71st founding anniversary of the PRC on October 1 last year, so as to ensure that the friendly relations between the two countries established with socialism as the core develop as required by the times and in conformity with the aspirations, desires and fundamental interests of the two peoples.

Today, the relations between the two parties and the two countries, which have been consolidated in the face of all trials and challenges of history, are getting closer day by day and making sound development with socialism as the core.
