The Democratic People's Republic of Korea was founded in conformity with the unanimous will of the Korean people on September 9, Juche 37 (1948). The foundation of the DPRK was a historic event heralding the birth of a genuine people's country for the first time in the Korean nation's history of 5 000 years.
The DPRK has provided the broad working masses with the most dignified and worthwhile life.
Under its care, the people play a vanguard role as the true masters of the state and society. They all enjoy equal political rights and freedom as the masters of the politics and take part in the state activities.
For the Workers' Party of Korea and the DPRK government that regard the people-first principle as their nature and sacred political idea, to protect the people's lives and promote their wellbeing is an important work that should be done in a responsible manner under any conditions.
Thanks to the powerful measures taken by the state, people who lost their homes and family properties due to natural disasters could get new houses equipped with all necessary conditions free of charge and lead a happy and cultural life.
In the DPRK, people's opinions and demands are reflected in all the policies and the institution of laws and their execution are based on the people-oriented principles from beginning to end. And appreciation by the people is an absolute criterion deciding the value of all the works.
The DPRK achieved great development even on the debris of war and displayed the invincible might in the worst adversity. Such progress could be made by the people who have fully discharged their role as the masters, upholding and defending socialist Korea with loyalty by giving full play to their unbounded patriotic zeal and creativity.
As the state provides the people with dignity, position and role on the highest level and the people find their happiness in the prosperity of the country and devote their all to the development of the state, socialist Korea is always emerging victorious.
