Tasik was a cake made by kneading grain or fruit powder with honey and pressing it in a board to make a pattern.
According to Koryosa , the king prohibited everyone to bring oil-and-honey pastry or tasik when he or she come to greet him, and according to Tongukrisanggukjip , tasik was used as a dish for a sacrificial rite.
During the period of the feudal Joson dynasty, the method of making tasik further improved along with the increase of its varieties. In those days, tasik was made by pressing the paste in big and small boards with the patterns of various animals and plants.
High-quality tasik at that time were black sesame tasik , chestnut tasik , starch tasik , angelica tasik , etc.
