This year, the DPRK produced many academic degree and title holders who have made a tangible contribution to developing the economy and improving the people’s living standards and the education of the rising generations.
Kim Haeng Son, a teacher at Kim Chaek University of Technology, was awarded the title of academician as he has pioneered many subjects and written scores of kinds of textbooks and reference books with a desire to render services to developing the country’s science and education.
Six officials, teachers and researchers at Kim Il Sung University, Pyongyang University of Mechanical Engineering and several other universities were awarded the title of candidate academician, and 48 intellectuals who have devoted themselves to training scientific and technological personnel obtained professorships.
Besides, many intellectuals obtained doctorates, associate professorships and other academic degrees and titles.
Among them are scientists who have solved practical problems arising in consolidating the independence and Juche character of the national economy and officials of the Chollima Steel Complex and the February 8 Jiktong Youth Coal Mine.
In particular, several educational and scientific research institutions produced doctors in their twenties and thirties.
