The Korean people significantly celebrated the 77th anniversary of national liberation on August 15.
On the occasion of the anniversary, many officials, service personnel of the Korean People’s Army, working people and youth and students visited the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, the supreme sanctuary of Juche where the great leaders Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il are preserved in their lifetime appearance, to look back with deep emotion upon their immortal revolutionary exploits.
Working people, KPA service personnel and youth and students visited the statues of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and their smiling portraits, including those on Mansu Hill and in other parts of the country, to lay flower baskets, bouquets and flowers and pay homage to them.
The national flags were hoisted in institutions and enterprises in different parts of the country, and colourful celebration performances were given in Pyongyang and local areas.
The artistes of the Mansudae Art Troupe gave a music and dance performance at the East Pyongyang Grand Theatre, the National Symphony Orchestra, a concert at the Moranbong Theatre, and the drama Devoted Service at the National Theatre.
Similar performances were also given in South Phyongan, North Hwanghae, Jagang, and North and South Hamgyong provinces, and Kaesong City.
The Hwaeppul Cup men’s football match took place at Kim Il Sung Stadium.
That day, youth and students and women held dancing parties in different parts of the country.
