On February 16 2011 all the Korean people celebrated the birthday of Chairman Kim Jong Il, wishing him good health. The Chairman, however, put his heart and soul into the building of an economic giant and the improvement of the people’s livelihood even that day.
That day, he told officials to make sure that the dolphinarium was built well and a water park was built on Rungna Islet without fail as planned.
Hearing that the Pothonggang Department Store started operation that day, he said that it should serve the people well so that they could buy goods with ease and that pastry kiosks should be put up in Pyongyang to sell the food to people.
That day, after receiving the report that citizens of Pyongyang were pleased to be provided with holiday goods on the occasion of his birthday and that they were celebrating the holiday relishing special dishes in public catering facilities of the city, he said that he found happiness and joy in those of the people.
